Five of a family among 12 killed in different road mishaps

DG KHAN/ SAHIWAL/MIANWALI (Staff Reports) – As many as twelve people including five of a family were killed in various accidents in Punjab on Sunday.

According to Rescue 1122, a bus coming from Karachi to Dera Ghazi Khan hit a motorcycle rickshaw near Grid Station at Jampur road.

As a result Manawar, his wife and three daughters–Farwa (8), Mahtaab (5) and Sana (2) died on the spot and four others received injuries. The Rescue 1122 shifted injured persons identified as Shakeel, Shakeela, Parveen and Ghulam Shabbir to district headquarters hospital.

Similarly, three people died and four others were injured in a collision between a bus and a rickshaw on Arifwala Road in Sahiwal.

In yet another accident, four people were killed and several others injured when two vehicles collided near Fakhar Checkpoint in Mianwali.

Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has expressed deep sense of shock and grief over the loss of precious lives and sympathised with bereaved families. He directed hospital authorities to provide best possible treatment to the injured.
