BEIJING – Prime Minister Imran Khan arrived in China on a four-day official visit on Thursday to attend the second Belt and Road Forum.
Upon arrival, the prime minister was warmly welcomed by Beijing Municipal Committee Deputy Secretary, Ms. Li Lifeng, Pakistan’s ambassador to China Masood Khan and other senior officials.
The premier is visiting China on an invitation extended by Chinese President Xi Jinping and is flanked by Advisor on Finance Abdul Hafeez Shaikh, Minister for Railways Shaikh Rasheed, Minister for Water Resources Faisal Vawda and other officials.

The four-day trip is premier’s second visit to China after assuming office. Last time he visited Beijing in September 2018.
During the tour, the prime minister would deliver a keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the Belt and Road Forum on Friday.
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Imran Khan said he was visiting China to further cement strategic partnership between Pakistan and China.
In a statement, the premier said China was an all-weather friend and a neighboring country of Pakistan.
“Pak-China friendship has a deep imprint on people of both the countries,” he added.
