LONDON – This year too, Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif is celebrating Eidul Fitr with his family in London, UK.
The PM, who reached London on Saturday from Saudi Arabia, offered Eid prayers with his sons Hussain Nawaz and Hassan Nawaz in the Britain’s capital city.
Punjab Governor Rafiq Rajwana was also accompanying the prime minister.
Nawaz Sharif is expected to stay there for a few days for a medical checkup.
The Pakistani prime minister and his family had been staying in Saudi Arabia for last ten days of Ramazan where they performed Umrah.
Following the reports that PM Nawaz, his family members and relatives performed Umrah on tax payers’ money, a government spokesman had to clarify that Nawaz Sharif paid all the expenses from his own pocket.
PM Nawaz arrived in Saudi Arabia on June 18 for a private visit along with his family. Deputy Governor of Makkah region Prince Abdullah bin Abdulaziz welcomed PM Nawaz at King Abdulaziz Airport on his arrival.
Upon his arrival at Masjid-e-Nabvi (PBUH), he was received by a number of officials of the General Presidency and Special Force for Security of the Holy Mosque.
