SHEIKHUPURA – Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi expressed on Friday that those switching loyalties can only serve themselves, not the nation.
Addressing a public gathering at the inaugural ceremony of a gas project in Sheikhupura, Abbasi said the politicians who are not loyal to their party cannot be loyal to the country either.
“Those who defected from Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) will be rejected by the nation,” he said, adding that defectors would have to pay a price in the upcoming elections.
The premier noted that those who had leveled false accusations and continued to use abusive terms did not represent Pakistan’s politics.
Taking a sarcastic jibe at political rival Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), the prime minister said milestones outlined in the former’s 100-day plan had already been achieved by his party, PML-N.
If a party could not achieve something in 1500 days of its government, then how can it gain peoples’ confidence it in 100 days, wondered Abbasi.
Mentioning that there is a clear difference between ideologies of political parties, the premier claimed that the next elected prime minister and chief minister [of Punjab] will belong to PML-N.
Abbasi claimed that “no one had implemented development projects in Sheikhupura except for PML-N,” adding that the nation would elect the politicians on the basis of their performance.
