Leave no stone unturned to nab culprits of Karachi terror attacks: COAS

KARACHI (Staff Report/APP) – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif has directed all commanders to leave ‘no stone unturned’ finding the perpetrators behind the Amjad Sabri murder and Awais Shah kidnapping.

The COAS on Sunday visited the headquarters of the Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) in Karachi where he was briefed about the ongoing operations, the prevailing security situation and the way forward for the Karachi operation.

According to an ISPR press release, the Army chief commended the sacrifices and achievements of the Rangers in Sindh which have so far brought about significant improvement in the law and order situation in Karachi.

Referring to recent incidents in the city, General Raheel directed all the commanders, including those of intelligence agencies, to continue working hand in glove and leave no stone unturned in finding the perpetrators.

The Director General of Rangers briefed the COAS in detail about the ongoing operations, the prevailing security situation and the way forward for Karachi operation.

Talking to the troops, the COAS said that determination, courage and resolve of Sindh Rangers to rid the city of the terrorists and criminals had earned them widest respect from the people of Karachi.

Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad, Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, National Security Advisor Lt-Gen (retd) Nasser Khan Janjua, Corps Commander Karachi Lt-Gen Naveed Mukhtar and Director General of Inter-Services Intelligence Lt-Gen Rizwan Akhtar were also present in the meeting.

Officers of intelligence agencies also attended the meeting.
