ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has said the government wants to vacate D-Chowk peacefully and without hurting any person.
Addressing a news conference in on late Tuesday, Nisar said if protesters do not disperse in next one hour then operation will be launched on Wednesday in daylight to vacate the Islamabad’s Red Zone in the presence of media.
Earlier, district administration of the federal capital has given two-hour notice to supporters of executed assassin Mumtaz Qadri to vacate Red Zone or else the security forces will carry out operation to end their unlawful sit-in.
Around 700 pro-Mumtaz Qadri protesters continued to protest in Islamabad’s Red Zone on Tuesday, despite warnings from the government, bringing the most sensitive parts of the capital to a standstill.

The negotiations between the district government and the protesters, held on Monday, proved fruitless.
On Tuesday, Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan briefed Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif regarding the on-going developments in the capital city. It was decided to negotiate with the protestors for another time, however if the negotiations fail then the operation will be carried out against the demonstrators.

According to sources, all preparations have already been carried out to launch an operation against those protesting in the Red Zone area, with heavy contingent of Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps and police on alert and awaiting orders.
Meanwhile, a heavy contingent of police has also been deployed at Numaish Chowrangi of Karachi, where supporters of Mumtaz Qadri are staging sit-in.
