Fbr Offices To Remain Open Today On Sunday For Tax Return Submissions Ahead Of Deadline

ISLAMABAD – Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) offices remain open today on Sunday to assist taxpayers in submitting business tax returns ahead of the looming deadline of September 30.

The country’s apex tax collection authority confirmed that this deadline will not be extended. As the final submission date approaches, many citizens have reported difficulties accessing FBR’s online portal, leading to concerns about their ability to file returns on time.

In response, the federal bureau indicated they are working to resolve the technical issues affecting the website to ensure all taxpayers can meet the deadline.

The decision to keep offices open on Sunday is intended to provide additional support to taxpayers during this critical period. Despite the challenges faced, officials reiterated that the September 30 deadline remains unchanged.

In light of these difficulties, the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry have formally requested a one-month extension for filing tax returns, citing ongoing technical problems and accessibility challenges that hinder timely submissions.
