ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Cricket Board has decided to initiate legal action against Indian cricket board BCCI, it has been learnt.
Chairman PCB Shehryar Khan while talking to newsmen in Lahore on Thursday expressed that the Pakistan board will send a legal notice to Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for not playing the series with Pakistan it had promised earlier.
“We have prepared a legal case against the BCCI and will be sending a legal notice to them [India] for violating the agreement,” he said ruling out any possibility of bilateral series between the neighbours.
Shehreyar maintained that Pakistan had suffered heavy financial losses as India refused to play any series with Pakistan adding that the cricketing board would oppose the ‘Big Three’.
The PCB Chairman confirmed that World XI would be making a visit to Pakistan in September as ICC representative Jiles Clark was satisfied with the security arrangements.
Regarding the upcoming edition of Pakistan Super League, Shehreyar disclosed that the matches would be played in various cities whereas the final for PSL 3 would be in Karachi.
PCB chairman also opined that the one-year punishment for Muhammad Irfan was not severe owing to his confessional statement.
Shehreyar Khan said that he would not be a part of country’s cricket board after August 2017.
