COAS Bajwa visits Lahore Corps, Punjab Rangers HQs amid Kashmir tensions

LAHORE – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Qamar Javed Bajwa on Saturday visited the headquarters of Lahore Corps & Pakistan Rangers Punjab, where he was briefed on border situation and operational preparedness of the troops.

“Counter-terrorism operations have made Pakistan Army battle hardened. I am proud of my officers & soldiers who have lived up to the expectations of nation. We stay steadfast,” the COAS was quoted by Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) DG Maj-Gen Asif Ghafoor as saying.

The top military commander’s visit to Lahore comes a day after he inspected the troops’ operational preparedness during his Headquarters Gujranwala Corps.

“Solidarity displayed by the nation with Kashmiri brethren during Kashmir Hour today is a strong message to the world. Deteriorating situation in Indian Occupied Jammu and Kahsmir (IOJ&K) is threat to regional peace”, Bajwa was quoted by the military’s media wing.
