LAHORE – The Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan has announced that it would hold a march on August 6 in Lahore to protest against the ‘worst rigging in the elections’ that put Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in the saddle for the first time.
According to a communique issued by the party after a meeting of its central executive committee on Monday, the protest rally will start from Data Darbar and end at the Punjab Assembly.
The party maintained that it was not an election, but a selection or a “fraud, committed on the basis of the worst kind of rigging.”

Moreover, the party, that has recently emerged on the political landscape, also decided to participate in by-elections and told its workers to get ready for the practice.
‘The workers should also get ready for local bodies elections,’ directed the group and added that the loyalists should prepare for Aug 14, the independence day, which would be celebrated in a befitting manner.
TLP had shocked the political commentators across the country in the 11th General Elections as it bagged two seats of the Sindh assembly, however, it failed to win any seat of the Lower House of the Parliament.
Nonetheless, the party secured some 21,91685 votes serving as a decisive factor for PML-N’s defeat on multiple seats.
