LAHORE – Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast widespread rains with snowfall over the hills during the next couple of days, starting from Wednesday to Thursday.
According to the PMD, a rain giving system has entered western parts of the country which will grip different parts on Wednesday (today) and will likely to persist in upper parts till Thursday.
Snowfall over hills is also expected in Malakand division, Swat, Chitral, Kalam, Malam Jabba and upper Dir, Quetta division, Murree, Galiyat, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, while widespread rain-thunderstorm will cover Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Lahore, Faisalabad divisions, Islamabad.
Rain-thunderstorm with snowfall over the hills is expected at scattered places in Quetta, Zhob, Kalat, Makran, Naseerabad and Sibbi divisions Sukkur, Larkana, Shaheed Benazirabad, Hyderabad, Karachi divisions during the next twelve hours.
Moderate to heavy falls can trigger landslides in Malakand, Hazara divisions, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.
A minimum temperature of some major cities recorded this morning was; Islamabad 1 degree centigrade Lahore 9, Karachi 16, Peshawar and Quetta 8, Gilgit zero, Muzaffarabad 3 and Murree 2 degree centigrade.
