PM Imran ropes in Dr Arslan Khalid as focal person on digital media

ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan roped in focal person for digital media as he approved the appointment of Dr Arslan Khalid on Monday.

According to a notification shared on Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s official Twitter account, the appointment will be in an honorary capacity.

Dr Khalid was appointed as the Secretary Social Media of PTI on March 1, 2018. He also served as the Operations Head of the party’s social media team.

According to PTI website, Dr Khalid also led the digital media campaign for the 2018 general elections which propelled the party into power for the very first time at the federal level.

Dr Khalid is a graduate of the King Edward Medical University and an entrepreneur; he felt “humbled and honoured” with his new assignment.

“Challenges are uphill but [the] solution lies in innovative ideas, hard work and teamwork. Will do my best to match the expectations,” he added.

Dr Khalid joins a bevy of focal persons currently in service including Nadeem Afzal Chan and Babar Atta. The prime minister himself remains active on Twitter with 9.08 million followers, however, the appointment of Dr Khalid confirms that the incumbent government is prioritizing digital media as well.
