RAWALPINDI – Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Adel Bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir called on Chief of Army Staff, General Qamar Javed Bajwa at GHQ on Thursday.
During the meeting, matters of mutual interest, regional security and current situation between Pakistan and India were discussed, stated a press release issued by ISPR.
The visiting dignitary appreciated Pakistan’s positive role for regional peace and stability and reaffirmed support of Saudi Arabia to Pakistan.
On the other hand, the military chief thanked the minister for taking on the mantle of peace effort in very difficult circumstances, saying that KSA has always been a true friend of Pakistan.
The Saudi official earlier called on Prime Minister Imran Khan and discussed matters of bilateral importance especially the recent escalation between India and Pakistan.
Adel Bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir is on a one-day official visit to Pakistan. he is touring the country on the directives of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

The visit is crucial because the Saudi official is expected to visit India as well for detente between the two countries that came to a brink of war following a suicide car bombing that killed at least 40 Indian paramilitary police in Indian-occupied Kashmir.
The two nuclear-armed countries then engaged in a rare air battle and India lost jets in it a day after carrying out an air strike on what it said was a JeM camp in Balakot area of northern Pakistan though Islamabad denies any such surgical strike.
Indian authorities said that 12 Mirage 2000 jets carrying 1,000 kg (2,200 lbs) bombs carried out the Feb 26th attack but Pakistan said that the target of the attack was a forest.
Pakistan had also captured Indian pilot Abhinandan alive last week who was later handed over to India as a gesture of peace – an action widely praised by the international community.
