Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto’s 40th death anniversary being observed today

LARKANA – The 40th death anniversary of the founding chairman of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto is being observed today (Thursday) at Garhi Khuda Bakhsh Bhutto in Larkana.

The PPP leadership will address a public gathering on the occasion. The main event to remember the former prime minister and founder of the party will be held at Garhi Khuda Bakhsh where a large number of followers of Bhutto and supporters of PPP are expected to gather.

The Sindh Government has made foolproof security arrangements to facilitate the people and avoid any untoward incident.

According to media reports, strict security arrangements were made at Bhutto mausoleum and around 7,000 cops were deployed around the site.

PPP is organizing a gathering on the event which will be addressed by PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari and other party leaders.

Bilawal already led a train march in different cities in connection with his grandfather’s anniversary. At a time when he and his father were facing corruption charges, the PPP is expecting a large gathering on the event to convey a political message to those elements whom the party considers are behind the ‘political victimization’ of party leaders.

According to media reports, a good number of PPP workers have already reached Garhi Khuda Bakhsh to pay tribute to their leader. The party has arranged welcome camps in different cities of Sindh.

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in his message on the occasion of Bhutto’s death anniversary said the role and contribution of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto after the founder of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah is exemplary.

In a message, he said the PPP’s founder role to strengthen Pakistan was unmatchable and he was the true leader of the country after Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

Bhutto, said Bilawal, will alive in the heart of people even after 40 years of his martyrdom at the hands of a military dictator.
