LAHORE – Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz leader Hamza Shehbaz alleged on Saturday that the National Accountability Bureau treated him like a terrorist despite the failure to prove corruption of a single penny.
Hamza addressed the party loyalists outside his Model Town residence after securing protective bail from the Lahore High Court and expressed that he was imprisoned in his own home.
The politician reminded that the court allowed him to leave the country for 14 days for his daughter’s open heart surgery but he returned to Pakistan in 13 days.
“We are not afraid of your threats Niazi Saheb,” Hamza said while referring to Prime Minister Imran Khan.
I spent seven months in jails during Musharraf’s rule when I was just 18, the lawmaker observed.
The legislator said his father Shahbaz Sharif and uncle Nawaz Sharif abided by the law and were facing courts.
“In respect of law, Nawaz Sharif returned to Pakistan, leaving his ailing wife on deathbed in London,” Hamza said.
The PML-N leader said his father Shehbaz Sharif was summoned for questioning in the Saaf Pani case but was arrested in Ashiana housing case.
Basking in the warmth of party workers, Hamza said they [workers] were like a family to him whom he respected a lot.

The politician also took aim at the sitting regime for its economic policies and expressed that he was scared owing to the same policies.
‘Let’s debate charter of democracy as the opposition would play its part for masses,’ Hamza advised the ruling regime.
The politician expressed that medical tests in state-owned hospitals were now more expensive than private hospitals.
Hamza Shehbaz expressed that the public voted them [PML-N] into parliament and despite severe rigging, they took the oath of office for continuity of democracy.
The PML-N leader opined that even during the period of tension between India and Pakistan, he chanted ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogan.
The address came after Chief Justice Lahore High Court approved the protective bail of Hamza Shehbaz and barred NAB from arresting him till April 8.
NAB team conducted raids twice at 96-H Model Town residence of Shehbaz Sharif to arrest Hamza, accusing him of money laundering and accumulating assets beyond means.
