PC Gwadar attack: Pakistan s hero Navy commando laid to rest with full honours

RAWALPINDI – Muhammad Abbas Khan, SSG (Navy), who embraced martyrdom while valiantly fighting the terrorists during counter-terrorism operation at PC Gawadar, was laid to rest in his native town Haripur with full military honours on Monday.

A Pakistan Navy contingent presented guard of honour to martyred Abbas Khan and a wreath was placed on his grave on behalf of the Chief of the Naval Staff. Senior officers from Naval Headquarters and Northern Command were also present on the occasion, said a press release.

Earlier, his funeral prayer was offered in Karachi on Sunday, which was attended by Sindh Governor Imran Ismail and senior naval officers, including Commander Coast, Commander Karachi, Commander Pakistan Fleet and Commander Logistics.

Meanwhile, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi, in his message to the families of Shuhada, paid tribute to the martyred, saying their great sacrifices for national defence and counter-terrorism were highly praiseworthy.
