Huawei sends 11 Pakistani students to China for two-week internship

LAHORE (Staff Report) – Huawei Pakistan has sent 11 Pakistani students to China for 2 week internship.
An opening ceremony for 11 students from Pakistani universities under “Seeds for the Future” programme was recently held in Islamabad.
Wife of Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Madam Bao, Member Ministry of IT Tahir Mushtaq and UET Vice Chancellor were present on the occasion.
Addressing the ceremony, Tahir Mushtaq ppreciated the students and said that it was a beginning of their life as they would get chance to interact with professionals working in Huawai.
He said that it was the first step from private sector to send students for two-week programme as their corporation social responsibility.
Madam Bao, in her speech said that China is always ready to help Pakistan at any level. In this programme, students will get the chance to explore China.
11 students who are selected from different colleges and universities will take a journey of 14 days in China, including China culture experience and ICT lectures and site visits both in Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU) in Beijing and Shenzhen Huawei Headquarters from Aug 15 to 29.
The “Seeds for the future” programme is the biggest Corporation Social Responsibility programme of Huawei Technologies. The programme seeks to develop local ICT talents, enhance knowledge transfers, and improve people’s understanding of and interest in the Information and Communication Technology industry. This programme was firstly launched in Thailand in 2008, until now it has extended to 40 countries and covers 10000 students all over the world.
The programme has been launched in Pakistan for the first time and Huawei Pakistan will dedicate more resources to empower more and more young people. The 2nd programme will be launched next year.
