Boxer Amir meets CM Shahbaz in Lahore

LAHORE (Staff Report) – British Pakistani boxer Amir Khan on Monday met Chief Minister Punjab Mohammed Shahbaz Sharif.

Matters especially regarding promotion of boxing at grass roots level in Pakistan were came under discussion.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said, Pakistan had a lot of talent in every field of sports and the need was to groom this talent to win more laurels for the country.

He said, provincial government would extend every support to sports organisations working to produce brilliant sportsmen.

The Chief Minister eulogised boxer Amir Khan for earning good name for the country in boxing and vowed to take full advantage of his experience and skill for promotion of boxing.

The internationally acclaimed athlete praised Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif for his steps taken for the promotion of sports in Punjab and expressed that he (Shahbaz) wanted Pakistani boxers be trained on international lines.
