67th anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam today

LAHORE (Staff Report) – The 67th death anniversary Pakistan’s founding father, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah is being observed with due solemnity and reverence today (Friday).

Special prayers are being offered for the soul of Quaid-i-Azam. Quran and Fateha Khawani were held at his mausoleum in Karachi.

The national flag flew half-mast at all the main buildings across the country.

A change of guard ceremony also was held at Mazar-e-Quaid where Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah and Governor Ishrat-ul-Ibad Khan laid floral wreath on the grave.

Accompanied by provincial minister for local bodies, Karachi commissioner and representatives of armed forces, they also paid glowing tributes to the Father of Nation in their remarks registered in visitors book.

The governor and the CM were of the view that unity was needed all the more by Pakistanis to address the present day challenges faced by the country.

Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s golden principles of Faith, Unity and Discipline are critically relevant today, they said.

Different educational institutions have also arranged special sessions to mark the day with students reminiscing different aspects of Quaid’s life personality and struggle.

Pakistan Television and Radio Pakistan will broadcast special programmes on this event to pay homage to the great leader and recall his struggle for the establishment of Pakistan, while newspapers have published special supplements on his death anniversary.
