General Raheel s US visit vital for regional security: ISPR

WASHINGTON (Staff Report) – Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Asim Saleem Bajwa has said Pakistan will continue supporting peace efforts in Afghanistan with utmost sincerity.

Briefing media in Washington on Sunday, he said Pakistan has always extended full support in establishing peace in Afghanistan.

He said we have already told that terrorists could flee to Afghanistan to avoid operation Zarb-e-Azb.

Asim stressed the need for strict surveillance along the border to avoid terrorists’ escape.

He said Army Chief General Raheel Sharif’s visit to the United States has great importance in the changing environment.

He urged Afghanistan to take effective measures to prevent terrorists from fleeing. ISPR chief said Army Chief will hold meetings with civil and military leadership of the United States.

He said regional security and stability will be discussed during the visit.
