Punjab Housing Minister booked in fraud case

LAHORE (Staff Report) – The Punjab Minister for Housing Tahir Aslam Malik has been booked in a fraud case along with his father Aslam Malik and brother Kamran Aslam Malik, local media reports said on Tuesday.

The FIR has been registered in Lahore’s Race Course police station.

The reports further said that FIR was registered on the request of Sales Manager of a private cement company  who alleged that Tahir Aslam Malik bought cement worth Rs6.5 crores but never made payment for that.

The section 489-F of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) has been included in the FIR which deals with issuance of a cheque for repayment of a loan or fulfillment of an obligation dishonestly and the cheque is dishonoured on presentation in the bank.

Anybody convicted under the charge could be punished with imprisonment for up to three years with or without fine.
