PM Nawaz reaches Lahore Airport to receive PM Modi

LAHORE (Staff Report) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif reached at the Lahore Airport to receive Indian Prime Minister Narendra who would made a surprise stopover in Lahore on Friday (today).

A statement by Foreign Office Spokesman said “On his way back from Kabul to New Delhi today, Prime Minister of India will stopover in Lahore to meet Prime Minister of Pakistan.”

Modi was in Afghanistan earlier in the day, where he met Afghan President Ashraf Ghani.

According to Geo TV, it is not confirmed both the leaders will hold their meeting at the airport lounger or whether the Indian Prime Minister will accompany PM Nawaz Sharif to Jati Umra where his Raiwind residence is located.

According to sources, the Indian prime minister is expected to land at Lahore just before 4:00PM.

Earlier, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to social media to express his desire to meet with Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Lahore.

Modi tweeted, “Looking forward to meeting PM Nawaz Sharif in Lahore today afternoon, where I will drop by on my way back to Delhi.”
