Imran Khan welcomes Nawaz-Modi meeting

ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan Friday welcomed Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Pakistan.

The PTI chief, in a statement, said that the continuation of meetings between the prime ministers of both India and Pakistan would yield positive effects on bilateral relations.

Improvement in Pak-India relations, he said, was inevitable for sustainable and durable peace in the region. After improvement of relations at high level, both the countries should make progress towards resolution of outstanding issues.

He said international community also viewed the meeting between Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and his Indian counterpart as a positive development.

Imran said in his recent visit to India he had invited rhe Indian Prime Minister to visit Pakistan.

Moreover, PTI chairman said that the vision of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah was of a humane socio-economic state centred on justice where all citizens were equal before the law.

Khan, in his message on 139th birth anniversary of Father of the Nation, said the Quaid’s vision for Pakistan should be remembered by the nation.

The Quaid-i-Azam, he said, remained a role model for aspiring leaders, especially for youth in whom he placed so much faith as torch- bearers of the country.

” Amongst the Quaid-e-Azam’s greatest assets were his integrity, selflessness and courage,” he said.
