Sardar Latif Khosa, Salman Akram Raja arrested in Lahore amid PTI protests

Senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders Latif Khosa and Salman Akram Raja were arrested on Sunday.

The senior leaders were held as Imran Khan’s party members are hitting Mall Road and other arteries against alleged vote rigging.

Dozens of PTI supporters including some noted lawmakers were held by police during a protest against alleged election rigging. 

Mian Mehmood ur Rashid’s son and MPA Haroon Akbar were also detained, along with Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen leader Zaheer Abbas Naqvi.

Huge security personnel were deployed in Lahore, Peshawar, Islamabad, and Rawalpindi to maintain law and order after the PTI announced agitation against vote rigging.

Sher Afzal Marwat led processions in Islamabad, where a large number of supporters gathered outside the Press Club. Capital force warned that gatherings of more than five people were banned under Section 144 of the CrPC in Islamabad, warning of legal action against violators.
