Zero tolerance policy being observed in Pakistan Railways, says Saad Rafique

LAHORE (Staff Report) – Federal Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique Monday said that zero tolerance policy is being observed in respect of trains and passengers travelling through rail service.

Addressing a meeting of Railway Police officers in Lahore, he made it clear that Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has never interfered in affairs of Railway.

The Minister said Railway Police officers and personnel are only answerable to the state and they should discharge their responsibilities with honesty.

He urged Police officers to take stern action against smuggling through Railway and protect environment in trains for passengers.

The Minister directed that Railway assets and equipment should be safeguarded and encroached land be retrieved from illegal occupants.
