Banks to receive Hajj applications from April 18, balloting on 29

ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – Scheduled banks will receive Hajj applications under the government scheme from April 18 to 26, while balloting will be held on 29th.

Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousuf at a news conference here on Saturday said that Hajj applications will be received from Monday to 26th of this month at selected branches of eight banks.

He said that eighty six thousand and twenty one pilgrims will perform Hajj through regular scheme while fifty seven thousand will go through private scheme.

He said all facilities would be provided to Pilgrims including accommodation, meal, and in Harmain Sharifain  and refreshment at airport.

The minister said the Hujjaj performed Hajj during the last five years are not eligible, however Hajje Badal is allowed.

He said balloting for the Hujjaj will be held on 29th of this month.

Yousaf said the package for Hajj-2016 for north zone will be 2,64,971 rupees, while the amount for south zone will be 2,61,941 rupees.

He said under the directions of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, airfare for north zone has been reduced from 98,700 rupees to 95,000 rupees and from 89,700 rupees to 86,000 rupees for the south zone this year.
