A strong earthquake jolted parts of Pakistan in dead of night on Saturday, sending shockwaves through cities.
As per reports, 5.4 magnitude quake struck in early hours of Saturday, catching residents off guard as buildings trembled in Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar, Rawalpindi, and beyond. Panic spread like wildfire across Punjab and KP, as people rushed out of their homes, many barefoot, clutching loved ones and reciting verses from the Holy Quran.
Tremors were also felt deep into Azad Kashmir, raising fears of aftershocks and potential damage.
Despite intensity and scale, authorities confirmed that no casualties or major structural damage have been reported so far, a fortunate outcome for what could have been a far more devastating disaster.
As per National Seismic Monitoring Centre, the epicenter was located in volatile Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan, at a depth of 102 kilometers, a zone notorious for seismic activity.
