LANDON (Staff Report) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is scheduled to undergo an open-heart surgery at a hospital in London on Tuesday (today).
The premier will be taken to operation at 12:00 pm Pakistan Standard Time (PST).
First lady Kalsum Nawaz, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, MNA Hamza Shahbaz, Salman Shahbaz, Hassan Nawaz and Hussain Nawaz are also in London.
A statement issued from foreign office said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif telephoned his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi and expressed gratitude for wishing him a speedy recovery.
Other world leaders have also prayed for the complete and speedy recovery of the premier after heart surgery.
These include Russian President Vladimir Putin, Afghan President Ashraf Ghani, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, and British Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond.
