WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump said US forces will be withdrawing from Iran ‘very soon,’ with military operations potentially ending in just two to three weeks.
POTUS claimed that recent coordinated airstrikes with Israel achieved their core objectives, including stopping Iran to get nuclear weapons. Trump said US now dominates Iranian skies and has effectively reshaped the country’s leadership by eliminating numerous senior political and military figures, calling the new rulers “much less radicalized” and “more rational” than their predecessors.
Washington will leave Iran once it is confident the nation cannot produce a nuclear weapon, regardless of whether a formal deal is struck. He also claimed that Iranian leaders are reportedly “begging to make a deal” to end the conflict, despite previous denials, and insisted the war could end without any negotiated agreement.
On the domestic front, Trump predicted that fuel prices will drop as soon as U.S. military actions cease.
Trump’s comments suggest a dramatic pivot in U.S.-Iran relations, highlighting both military dominance and a potential path toward de-escalation, though skepticism remains over Tehran’s willingness to negotiate.
US and Israeli forces started assault on February 28, 2026, launching surprise airstrikes in Iran, killing Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and other top officials. Iran retaliated with missiles and drones targeting Israel, US bases, and Gulf allies, while Hezbollah’s attacks escalated into the 2026 Lebanon War.
Global oil and gas markets surged as Tehran closed the Strait of Hormuz and energy facilities were hit. Pentagon has already spent $18 billion, seeking another $200 billion, as the conflict threatens to destabilize the entire Middle East.
