Artificial intelligence has moved out of research labs and technology demos into boardrooms, product strategy, and day-to-day operations. For most enterprises, the hard problem is no longer understanding what AI can do. It’s building the infrastructure, architecture, data systems, and engineering discipline required to deploy it reliably at scale.
Saima Mushtaq, Chief Technology Officer of LeapSofts, has spent more than two decades preparing for exactly that problem. Her career spans enterprise software development, cloud architecture, product engineering, and, more recently, artificial intelligence, but the thread connecting all of it is consistent: applying advanced technology to concrete business problems rather than treating AI as a standalone experiment.
A Foundation in Engineering and Research
Before stepping into executive roles, Saima built hands-on engineering experience on projects tied to globally recognized organizations including Intel, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Yahoo, Amazon, Best Buy, Staples, and Costco. That work exposed her to the engineering standards required of global scale systems: scalability, security, performance optimization, and enterprise architecture. Those standards would later shape how she built and ran technology organizations of her own.
Her engagement with intelligent systems started well before AI became a mainstream enterprise priority. During her academic career at FAST-NUCES and LUMS, she explored applied machine learning and classification algorithms aimed at real world problems, including research on automated financial transactional data prediction that compared classification algorithms such as ID3 and C4.5 to improve predictive accuracy and reduce risk in financial decision making. She also studied algorithmic efficiency across different data views in contexts where reliable prediction mattered. A separate research track examined quality of service improvements for real time communication over IEEE 802.11 networks. Her work on hybrid classification approaches for real time domains was later presented at the IEEE International Conference on Research, Innovation and Vision for the Future (RIVF): early evidence of a long standing interest in applying computational intelligence to hard technical problems, not a recent pivot toward a trending field.
Building Enterprise Systems at Scale
Saima’s move from individual contributor to executive leadership began in 2015, when she joined Ommatee Ltd. as Chief Product Officer, expanding her responsibilities beyond software development into product strategy, technology planning, and cross functional leadership.
In 2016, she became Chief Technology Officer at Kaagga Vision Pvt. Ltd., a role she held for more than seven years: leading engineering teams, defining technology roadmaps, overseeing software architecture, and guiding enterprise products from concept through deployment. Those years spent building platforms, managing engineering organizations, and designing scalable architecture laid the groundwork for her later AI work. By the time enterprise AI adoption accelerated, she already had deep experience in data driven systems, automation, and enterprise architecture, the exact background needed to help organizations move from AI experimentation to practical implementation rather than starting from scratch.
In 2023, she joined LeapSofts, where she serves as Chief Technology Officer, combining her enterprise engineering background with emerging AI capabilities. She leads technology strategy, engineering operations, and product development across healthcare, financial technology, cybersecurity, retail, fashion technology, and automotive sectors.
Alongside her work at LeapSofts, Saima has expanded her leadership footprint internationally. She served as Chief Technology Officer for Mint Rewards in the United Kingdom, where she defined the company’s technology roadmap and led development of a cloud based rewards and loyalty platform built on the MERN stack, taking the product from architecture through deployment. She also co-founded Exacology, a Delaware based technology venture applying digital technology to mental health and psychological wellbeing. As CTO, she leads a multidisciplinary team of more than thirty professionals across seven countries: engineers, designers, psychologists, coaches, and psychometric specialists, bringing technical and domain expertise together to build scalable digital solutions for a genuinely cross-disciplinary problem.
Technology Community and Mentorship
Beyond building enterprise systems, she has stayed engaged with the broader technology ecosystem through speaking, mentorship, and professional community work. In 2013, she represented Pakistan as a panel speaker at the Global Tech Women Conference, participating in the session “Talk Listen Connect: We Are Made of Pakistan,” and has continued contributing through technology conferences, university engagements, and industry events focused on AI, software engineering, entrepreneurship, and digital transformation.
She is a Senior Member of Plan9, the flagship startup incubator established by the Punjab Information Technology Board, and serves as a Mentor with the Al-Khawarizmi Institute of Computer Science (KICS) at the University of Engineering and Technology. She is also a Senior Member of Femington, an international professional network focused on technology, leadership, and entrepreneurship.

Saima’s career traces the broader evolution of enterprise technology leadership: from software engineering and scalable systems toward artificial intelligence and digital transformation. What distinguishes her isn’t a particular algorithm or tool. It’s the ability to connect emerging technology to practical implementation.

Her career makes the case plainly: successful AI adoption isn’t built on new algorithms alone. It’s built on decades of engineering discipline, enterprise experience, and the ability to turn complex technology into something that reliably works at scale.
