PESHAWAR (Staff Report) – Federal Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid has said that the government would soon table Right to Information Bill in the National Assembly.
Speaking at a ceremony in Peshawar, he said it is for the first time in history of the country that PML (N) government got the Right to Information Bill passed by Punjab Assembly and soon it would be tabled in the Lower House of the Parliament.
Pervaiz Rashid said the government has all along been supporting the journalist community in their struggle for freedom of the media.
It is also worth mentioning here that Sindh government had also announced to introduce the Right to Information Bill in the Sindh Assembly.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly adopted a similar bill in 2013, soon after Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf rose to power in the province.
