ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Saturday said his party by going back to Parliament ensured that no secret deals or commitments are made on the behalf of elected representatives.
Khan, in his twitter feed, recalled the consequences Pakistan faced after its decision to jump into the war on terrorism 11 years ago. “In 2004, I stated in Parliament Pak should stay out of US War on Terror & not send forces to Waziristan,” he stated.
PTI leader remembered his speech where he had concluded”it would be going into quicksand to fight someone else’s war,” about a decade ago when Pakistan army launched its early operation in the tribal areas of the country.
PTI chief went on to say that Pakistan suffered over 50,000 deaths and around $1 billion loss to our flickering economy by taking a wrong decision in last decade. We are facing worst civil order and resurgent terrorism; the cricketer-turned politician tweeted.
He blamed the underhand deals were made with United States to fight the war on terror and still Pakistan is facing the fallout.
He further tweeted “Despite my natural instinct not to return to assemblies till report of Judicial Commission, I made decision to return so as to give our clear position”.
I felt PTI should play its role at this time to redefine our national policy and as a result the unanimously approved resolution reflected our position clearly, he said.
