British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson arrives in Pakistan

LAHORE – Secretary of State for Foreign & Commonwealth Affairs Boris Johnson arrived in Islamabad today (Thursday) on a two-day official visit to Pakistan.

Senior Foreign Office officials received the visiting dignitary on arrival.

British Foreign Secretary will hold talks with Advisor on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz today. Ways and means to enhance bilateral relations in diverse fields will be discussed during the meeting. Regional situation and international issues of mutual interest will also come under discussion.

During his visit, Boris Johnson is also expected to call on President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Punjab Shehbaz Sharif.

Earlier, Chief Secretary Punjab presided over a high-level meeting to review the security arrangements with reference to arrival of British foreign minister in Pakistan that was attended by DCO Lahore Mohammad Usman, Home Secretary Punjab, IG Punjab Police and other respective officers.

During the high-level meeting, a final security plan for Lahore was devised in connection with visit of British Foreign Minister to Lahore.
