DASKA – Punjab Food Authority on Friday sealed a production unit of Gourmet, a bakery and confectionery chain based, in Daska after finding substandard milk and poor administration to handle it.
The food authority raided the production unit of Gourmet and analysed the quality of milk and administrative measures at the unit. Sources reported that the quality of the recovered milk did not even meet the standards set by the Gourmet on which the authority sealed the unit taking legal action.
The sources further said that the unit will remain sealed for one to two weeks during which the officials will review the process of the unit to collect milk and its distribution to stores.
