Senior SC judge linked to Panama case hospitalised

ISLAMABAD – Justice Azmat Saeed, who is currently part of the five member larger bench to probe into Panama Leaks was hospitalised on Tuesday following chest pain.

According to the details, Justice Saeed was admitted to the Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology. It was reported that he underwent angiography in the hospital and was advised to take rest. The doctors would decide today (Wednesday) as to whether stents could be placed in his body or not.

According to the hospital sources, the health of senior judge was improving and his blood pressure was also brought under control.

Maj. Gen. (retd) Azhar Kiyani is supervising the medical board which is providing treatment to supreme court’s judge.

Following the treatment of justice Azmat Saeed, the apex court has adjourned hearing a slew of petitions seeking a probe into Panama Leaks till Monday.

Meanwhile, Justice Asif Khosa expressed that the resumption of hearing on Monday was conditional to justice Azmat’s health and availability adding that the doctors had advised him to take rest for next three to four days.

He clarified that blockage in one of the arteries caused problems for justice Azmat Saeed however, it was removed.

Meanwhile, PTI supremo Imran Khan also took to twitter praying for early recovery of judge.

Justice Azmat Saeed is one of the most active judge of the bench currently investigating the Panama leaks. Other members of the larger bench include Justice Asif Saeed Khosa, justice Aijaz Ul Ahsan, justice Gulzar Ahmed, justice Aijaz Afzal.
