KARACHI – Two members of the banned terror group Tehreek-e-Taliban-Pakistan were arrested in the wee hours of Tuesday, in Karachi.
According to police sources, the suspected terrorists affiliated with TTP’s Yasir Swati group were rounded up in a raid near Malakand graveyard.
Two hand grenades and a pistol were also recovered from them. Police said that the suspects were involved in terrorism, extortion and target killing.
In addition, amid a crackdown against illegal immigrants, at least 183 Afghan residents were apprehended by the authorities.
As part of operation Radd-ul-Fassad in the purview of recent spree of attacks, combing operations have been intensified across the country.
Earlier on Sunday, as many as 70 suspects were detained by personnel of the intelligence agencies in port city.
