ISLAMABAD – Prime minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday reiterated that the multi-billion dollars China-Pakistan Economic Corridor was a game changer for the entire region.
The premiere expressed these views as he met Executive Vice Foreign Minister of China Mr. Yesui Zhang at PM house.
After a rousing welcome to Executive Vice Foreign Minister, the Prime Minister lauded China’s diplomatic and material support to Pakistan in its fight against terrorism.
Nawaz Sharif also thanked the Chinese Government for their continued support on the NSG and at the UNSC 1267 Committee.
‘Pakistan and China are iron brothers and friendship with China is the cornerstone of our foreign policy’ stated the PM.
The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to the leadership and brotherly people of the People’s Republic of China for their unconditional support that was getting stronger with each passing day.
‘CPEC is a game changer that is going to transform the lives of the billions of people of the region’ the Prime Minister asserted.
He welcomed the participation of the Executive Vice Foreign Minister as a Representative of the Government of People’s Republic of China in the ECO Summit on special invitation.
PM stated that he looked forward to his visit to China in May 2017 to participate in the “Belt and Road Forum” for International Cooperation (BRF) at the invitation of President Xi Jinping”.
The meeting was also attended by Mr. Sun Weidong Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Mr. Xio Qian DG Asian Affairs, Mr. Chen Feng Counselor Asian Department, Mr. Tariq Fatemi Special Assistant to PM, Mr. Fawad Hasan Fawad Secretary to PM, Ms. Tehmina Janjua Foreign Secretary Designate and other senior officials.
