PTI welcomes approval of FATA reforms

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tehreek Insaf (PTI) welcomed the approval of Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) Reforms by the federal cabinet, here on Friday.

A meeting convened under the chairmanship of PTI supremo Imran Khan deliberated over the approval of FATA reforms and lauded the process aimed at mainstreaming FATA.

Chairman PTI Imran Khan said FATA Reforms approval by the federal cabinet was the correct decision and would end the deprivation of the people of FATA.

He said the whole nation specially people of FATA were very happy over the decision.

‘The meeting was attended by Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak, Secretary General PTI Jahangir Khan Tareen, Secretary Information PTI Naeem ul Haq and KPK cabinet members’ said in a press release.

On Thursday the federal cabinet had approved recommendations put forth by the Federally Administered Tribal Areas reforms (FATA) committee.

The approval came during a crucial cabinet meeting under the chairmanship of prime minister Nawaz Sharif and senior officials including K-P Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra.

According to sources privy to the developments, it was also decided that the Frontier Crime Regulation (FCR) will be repealed after a constitutional amendment.
