PM Nawaz launches health card scheme for Thatta, Sujawal

THATTA – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday announced health card scheme for poor people of Sindh after launching it in Punjab.

The Prime Minister was addressing a public gathering at Makli stadium in Thatta. He added that provincial government should provide health facilities to people, but if they are unable to do that then federal government was here to support the marginalised segment of society.

After getting the health cards, the people will be able to avail free treatment at private and public hospitals near their homes.

He also announced the establishment of a “big” hospital comprising 500 beds for the people of Thatta. Criticising the provincial governments of Sindh and KhyberPakhtunkhwa (KP), the PM said: “Karachi and Peshawar have never witnessed such packages which have been announced for Thatta”.

He pledged that electricity and gas facilities will be provided to the public residing in different parts of Sindh, adding that orders have been passed for providing gas to communities of Sujawal and Thatta.

On such big announcement, the people chanted slogans of “love you Nawaz Sharif”. The PM also replied, “I love you too”.

Upon his arrival at Karachi’s Old Terminal earlier in the day, the PM was greeted by Sindh Governor Muhammad Zubair and Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah.
