ISLAMABAD – Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has taken notice of granting permission to medical colleges without fulfilling the required criteria.
In a statement issued on Friday, he asked Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to probe the matter as to why such medical colleges were allowed to play with the future of the students.
Nisar said that it should be determined whether it was negligence of any institution concerned or a crime was committed intentionally.
He also sought a report into the issue of illegal human organs transplant within fifteen days.
A strict accountability was necessary, he said. He directed the FIA to start formal investigation against persons, facilitators and centres involved in sale, purchase and transplant of human organs.
On the occasion, the Pakistan Cricket Board and the FIA presented an initial report to the interior minister on the matter of spot fixing, according to a statement issued here by the ministry.
