No unannounced loadshedding anywhere in the country: Khawaja Asif

ISLAMABAD – Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Asif has termed the reports about undeclared loadshedding as baseless and unfounded saying overall electricity shortfall stands at 4,642 megawatt in the country.

The minister held that overall demand of electricity in the country is 19,491 megawatt while power production is 14,849 megawatts, according to a tweet on Saturday.

“Loadshedding is being caused due to difference in demand and supply of electricity. But all such reports are absurd and baseless wherein it has been claimed that unannounced and protracted loadshedding is being observed in the country”, he added.

He observed that no unannounced load shedding is being observed anywhere in the country. The persisting power shortfall will come to end with the completion of energy projects.
