KARACHI – An anti-terrorism court on Tuesday tasked Sindh Rangers DG to present Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) leaders, including Farooq Sattar, before the court in a case of hate speech that motivated people to attack media houses.
At the time of the incident, Farooq Sattar was part of MQM-London and later he disassociated himself from the party due to MQM founder Altaf Hussain’s anti-Pakistan speech. He also made his own party named MQM-Pakistan.
The court asked the Rangers to implement non-bailable arrest warrants against Farooq Sattar, Amir Khan and other MQM leaders after the police failed to arrest them.
The court remarked that the police had failed to detain the culprits despite issuance of warrants, besides rejecting the police report regarding absconders.
All the suspects were facing charges of facilitating a hate speech by the MQM founder Altaf Hussain on August 22, 2016 and attack on media houses.
