Lax behaviour of interior minister stirring discomfort in PML-N’s camp

ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s aide and Minister of Interior Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has not yet met the premier at his office since the submission of joint investigation team’s (JIT) findings in the apex court which questions legitimacy of wealth acquired by the first family, Dunya News reported.

Sources have stated that the interior minister was present in Punjab House throughout Tuesday where he looked after routine official matters.

Nisar, known for his verbal outbursts, has kept his lips sealed on the latest happenings in Panama Papers Case and has not issued a single statement in favour of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) or in denial of JIT’s findings. Similarly, he hasn’t met any active leader of the ruling party.

Lax behaviour of interior minister has stirred discomfort in PML-N’s camp with party’s workers and federal ministers waiting for statement as Nisar was the one who drove PM to judicial academy during his appearance before Panamagate JIT.

It should be recalled that head of Panamagate JIT Wajid Zia, being additional director of Federal Investigation Agency, is Chaudhry Nisar’s subordinate officer.
