Four troops martyred as Indian forces target Pak-Army s vehicle near Neelum River

MUZAFFARABAD – At least four soldiers were martyred on Sunday after Indian army opened fire on a vehicle of Pakistan Army travelling along River Neelum, in Azad Jammu and Kashmir region, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

Soon as the Indian forces targeted the Pakistani troops at Athmaqam sector, the vehicle fell into the Neelum River.

The body of one of the drowned soldiers was recovered while search for remaining three was in progress, the ISPR statement read.

The Line of Control (LoC) ceasefire violation was responded befittingly, the statement added.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has strongly condemned Indian forces’ firing on Pakistan Army jeep at Neelum Valley resulting in drowning and martyrdom of four army personnel.

The Prime Minister expressed deep grief and condolences with bereaved families of the martyred personnel.

The Prime Minister praised the prompt response by Pakistan Army in thwarting the attack.
