Peshawar hospital s doctor among 7 arrested for illegal trading of human organs

PESHAWAR – The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Tuesday busted a gang allegedly involved in illegal transplantation of human organs.

As per reports, a team of the FIA following information regarding illegal transplants of kidney, raided a private hospital in tehsil Pabbi of district Nowshera in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

During the raid, the police arrested Abdul Aziz, urologist of Hayat Medical Complex (HMC), Peshawar, and his seven assistants when they were engaged in the transplanting process at the hospital.

The FIA is interrogating the arrested persons.

Earlier in April, the investigation agency had busted a gang and lodged first-ever under the Human Organ Transplant Act (HOTA) against two doctor, two foreign nationals and two organ donors.
