Establishment arranged MQM-PSP meeting on Farooq Sattar s nod, claims Mustafa Kamal

KARACHI – Pakistan Sarzameen Party (PSP) Chairman Mustafa Kamal claimed that the meeting between him and Farooq Sattar was arranged by the ‘establishment’ but hastened to add that it was done on former’s request.

Addressing a press conference on Saturday in response to Farooq Sattar who heads Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P), Kamal expressed that he would disclose the complete truth contrary to Sattar who unveiled ‘half truth’.

Going a mile more, Kamal alleged that Farooq Sattar used to pressurize PSP through establishment for a merger with MQM.

‘We had clarified that PSP would not merge with MQM’ he declared and added that several MQM-P leaders including Kamran Tessori, Faisal Sabzwari took part in meeting conducted in the backdrop of MQM-PSP merger.

‘What I am disclosing should have been revealed by Inter-Services Public Relations’ said Mustafa Kamal.

The PSP chairman took aim at the media for ‘creating a perception’ that Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) chief Farooq Sattar was abducted and coerced into holding a joint press conference.

He claimed that a hand note by Khawaja Izhar of MQM was available in which the details of MQM-PSP press conference were mentioned.

‘The conference took place in front of everyone and the media. Yet such a perception was created,’ he said during his press conference at Pakistan House

The politician claimed that for over six to eight months the establishment was compelling them (PSP) to meet Farooq Sattar.

The PSP chief admitted that he is in contact with the establishment but said he is not an “establishment agent” adding that everyone in the country, politicians, businessmen etc are in contact with the establishment.

He continued that when he did not accept MQM, how could he forge an alliance with it.

Mustafa Kamal took a sarcastic jibe at Sattar saying that no ‘Thakur’ detained him (referring to the Rangers official who arrested Farooq Sattar last year).

He described that MQM-Pakistan came to fore after Farooq Sattar ‘spent a night’ with Rangers officials adding that the then Sindh Governor Ishrat ul Ebad had conveyed him about efforts for Sattar’s release.

Kamal revealed that Ishrat ul Ebad telephoned Anees Qaimkhani after the August 22 speech of Altaf Hussain, asking him to join MQM.

He claimed that during the night long detention, Farooq Sattar revealed details about the women who attacked different media houses in the metropolis following which further arrests were made.

He elaborated that MQM was doing a politics of ‘Mohajirs’ although there existed no biggest threat to the community.

Mustafa Kamal reiterated that Imran Farooq was murdered on the behest of MQM founder Altaf Hussain and added that even Farooq Sattar knew it.

After hurling scathing allegations against MQM-Pakistan chief, Kamal clarified that he knew the compulsion faced by Farooq Sattar.

‘I am ready to sit again with Farooq Sattar as there existed no enmity between them’ Kamal added and observed that the members of PSP would not fight with anyone.

The press conference came at a time when the leaders of MQM-Pakistan including Farooq Sattar, Faisal Sabzwari, Karachi Mayor Waseem Akhter and otehrs were paying a visit to the Yadgar-e-Shuhada monument in Azizabad.
