Imran, Tareen disqualification case: PML-N has reservations on SC verdict, says Marriyum

ISLAMABAD – The Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, Marriyum Aurangzeb in her reaction to the judgment of Supreme Court has said that standards maintained in Panama Papers case have been negated in this case.

Marriyum’s remarks came after the Supreme Court disqualified PTI Secretary General Jahangir Tareen but ruled in favour of PTI Chairperson Imran Khan in its judgment on the disqualification case against the two party leaders.

Talking to newspersons in Islamabad this on Friday evening, she said not only the leadership of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaaf (PTI) but also the entire party will be disqualified by the Election Commission in foreign funding case.

The minister of state said PML-N has the constitutional right to express reservations on these judgments.

Interior Minister, Ahsan Iqbal has said that different parameters to disqualify former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and to qualify Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan will be debated in the days to come.

In a tweet, he said today’s verdict will raise questions for rule of law in the future.
