KARACHI – A man has confessed to killing his wife, who was school principal and allegedly murdered by robbers in the metropolis earlier this month.
On December 10, police filed a case regarding the killing of the principal, Ambreen Fatima, during a robbery attempt in Soldier Bazaar area and related the incident with street crime.
During the investigation, the husband named Ali Hassan confessed to the police that he had plotted the murder of his wife, 41. Following the murder, the police have arrested three suspects Ali Hassan, Sahar and Barlaaj.
According to police, Hassan was employed at the same school where his wife was working as the principal. He has married another colleague at the school, Sahar, but kept his marriage secret.
Police revealed that the brother of Sahar, Barlaaj was forcing Hassan to make the marriage public and putting pressure on him for rukhsati.
Due to the pressure from his brother-in-law, Hassan devised a plan to kill his first wife and bring the second to his house.
During interrogation, Barlaj made a startling revelation that Hassan had killed his wife. The police following the information arrested Hassan for interrogation where he admitted his crime.
The husband had informed the police at the time of the incident happened that he along with his wife was driving around the city when two armed robbers intercepted his vehicle near Parsi Colony and tried to snatch cell phones, cash and other items.
He also informed that robbers opened fire when he showed some resistance and in the result, his wife was shot dead.
Police had also lodged FIR No 299/2017 against the unknown gunmen under sections 397 (robbery or dacoity with attempt to cause death or grievous hurt) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code.
