After an astonishing 72 years, the case of Anne Frank is resurfacing after researchers have found new files recorded during the Holocaust.
Anne Frank is a name that has become synonymous with courage, bravery and is the most famous Jewish victim of the Holocaust especially after the release of her infamous diary where she documents her life in hiding and as a prisoner in the Nazi concentration camps.
The story of this young girl has captured the hearts and attention of millions of people throughout the world, therefore it is no surprise that forensic teams are hell bent on finding more and more about Anne Frank. Considered to be one of the greatest mysteries of the Second World War, FBI forensics may be one step closer to finding out who is responsible for the demise of Anne and her family.
Researchers will use AI Algorithms to obtain information from the overwhelming amount of data present. According to renowned filmmaker Thijs Bayens, the aim is to start with the case as if it were a blank sheet and investigate all possible options, which would amount to hundreds of scenarios. He further stated that the idea that Anne Frank and her family were betrayed is just one possibility out of many others.
The case centers around 1945, when the Gespato (German secret state police) found and arrested the family and transferred them to the infamous Auschwitz concentration camp where Anne died of Typhus.
The new information may hold the key to decoding long lost information and may put a lot more regarding the case into perspective.
