LAHORE (Web Desk) – Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) has arrested former Hockey Olympian and Shift Station Manager (PIA) Zahid Shareef in allegedly drug smuggling bid at Allam Iqbal International Airport Lahore here on Sunday, local media reported.
According to sources, former Olympian came to airport to hand over a bag contains heroin worth millions of rupees to a passenger who set to board Qatar Airways flight for Doha. The suspects have been shifted to undisclosed location for interrogation.
Zahid represented Pakistan for 5 years (1987–1991). In his career, he scored 41 goals playing in 73 matches. He is remembered for his exceptional dribbling skill.
